Introduce yourself! Who are you, and what's your role at the Loyaltek Group?

"I’m Liesbeth. I work as a Customer Support Officer at LoyalPay. I’m more of a remote freelancer for the company. I am Belgian, but I’ve lived in Slovenia since 2019."

How did you end up at LoyalPay?

I was looking for a job I could do from here in Slovenia. That’s how I found that they were looking for Customer Service officers. It seemed perfect to me, so I applied. And it turned out quite perfect! The team is perfect, I love the atmosphere within the group. I enjoy solving problems together, and helping the clients with their technical problems.”

What do you want to achieve in your career?

I am not aiming to build a career, I am happy where I am now as a freelancer with the freedom that it gives me. I can live in Slovenia and work remotely while still being in contact with a lot of people. So I like it a lot. For me this is just fine. This job is a perfect match for me.

If you could have dinner with 3 inspiring women, dead or alive: who would they be and why?

""I would like to have dinner with Joan of Arc. She’s long dead but I think it would be nice to hear her story and have a conversation with her. Also, Virginia Woolf who is a famous writer. And an actress, Kathryn Hahn; every role that she takes is cool. I love the fact that she’s not that famous but she’s awesome. She’s always playing weird and funny characters. I think it would be interesting and fun to have dinner with these three ladies."

Tell us about a professional experience that made you who you are today.

"I have had a lot of very different professional experiences in my life. I was quite restless. Then I moved to Slovenia, and now I feel at peace. I think it’s all of those different things that I did that made me know what it is that I wanted in life, and now I finally found my place. I studied to be a social worker, I also worked as a chef, and now I’m working for customer service. Each experience has taught me different things. I think I had to take all of those detours to arrive here. Now I live in the middle of nature on a remote farm where I have all the space for my hobbies (gardening, cooking, hiking, yoga, just being outdoors in general) while I am still able to work with people, helping and assisting them."

If you could share just one piece of career advice with women in our community, what would it be?

“You don’t have to take my advice, but if you would, then simply make your own choices and don’t do anything just because you think someone expects it from you, or you think you should do it. No. Do what you want and not what you think you should: in life in general, and in your career.."

Thanks for sharing your story with us, Liesbeth!
